Excel Basics

Excel works in a similar way to all other Microsoft Office products, with the familiar menu bar (by default, it starts with File, Edit, View etc…) at the top, plus a range of other toolbars that can be added, removed or customised. (the standard and formatting toolbars are shown by default)

An Excel workbook can contain several sheets (the default name for the worksheets are Sheet1, Sheet2, etc… which can be seen along the bottom)

The cursor can be moved around from one cell to another using the arrow keys, by clicking with the mouse or by putting the cell address or reference in the name box.
